St. Louis, MO – CASPA (Child and Adolescent Specialist Programs and Accommodation), an Australian agency that supports and rebuilds the lives of children in foster care, and at-risk children and their families, has partnered with Global Vision Technologies, Inc. (GVT) to implement FAMCare human services software for their foster care and case management needs. The goal of FAMCare will be to help with structured information collection and analysis as they work with children and adolescents with complex needs and problems.

As many of you know, if you’ve been following my other posts, I have a passion for customers we serve because of my experience growing up as the son of house parents.  They can’t call them that any more, and no one actually lives in the same residence as the clients.  Times have really changed.

One of the core principles at Global Vision Technologies is “solving the unsolvable.” As the Director of Infrastructure at GVT, I help manage our infrastructure systems, such as our data hosting facilities. There are many times when we’re faced with that “unsolvable” challenge, and I love the opportunity to tackle it.

While working on an implementation at a customer site, I observed a caseworker in Michigan entering data into a SACWIS (State Automated Child Welfare Information System) computer system, then immediately enter the same data (plus some that SACWIS didn’t have) into the agency’s own system.

We recognize how tough it is to run a successful agency.  We have such admiration for you and the work you do to help our society's most vulnerable children and families.  It is why we've dedicated a good part of our lives to serving you, your social workers and your agency.  However, we not only strive to bring you world-class software solutions, but useful information that can help in other areas, as well. 

Learning to write was traditionally left to the Liberal Arts. Practical considerations have minimized liberal arts education at the university level leaving the training in the 3 Rs to elementary and high school teachers. This major shift in our educational philosophy has left social service workers ill prepared to write at the level required by the profession. FAMCare human services software goes a long way to fill this educational gap.

The purpose of this weekly blog is to stimulate thought and discussion about the topics that affect the entire social services sector. Even though our blog appears here on the FAMCare site, it is not our intention to inform you about our products in this space. However, every now and then, FAMCare does provide the perfect solution to a problem the social services sector is faced with.
