Case workers involved in health and human services are in a unique position to be aware of families in the communities struggling to make ends meet. 

Hey there!

Just a short announcement that the Official FAMCare User Forum was launched today.  The forum has been something we've wanted to do for a while to help create a place for users to go to network with other FAMCare users and to find answers to their issues.

 

I am very lucky to work with a man who cares more about others than himself.  Being a social worker sitting with 4 developers on a daily basis presents is challenges.  We think and act differently.  We approach problems differently and use different forms of communication.  But a guy I work with can be deep into his own problems or tasks and see what others need.  

What do most people think of this time of year? March Madness, The Masters, Spring Training and of course COOKIES! But not just any cookies Girl Scout Cookies. No one can deny these cookies are delicious and are only available once a year but these young girls are doing so much more throughout the year.

I still have a full set of Windows 3.11 on 3.5’ floppies. It was a wonderful time. With a bit of 10 BASE2 coax cable, BNC T-connectors, network interface cards (NICs), and a couple of 50 ohm terminators we could get computers to talk to one another. How could we forget the fun we had getting the interrupts set properly on the bus cards. And when it was all done, our first foray into network gaming, Duke Nukem, roared to life. Of course I figured out early how to use the mouse instead of the keyboard. The kids never knew what hit ‘em.

When I was younger, all I wanted from my manager or supervisor was that they knew something about what I did, so they could give me guidance.  There was always an understanding between us and I could feel good knowing we were on the same page.  I had the most respect for that leader that backed me up when I wasn’t there, went to bat for me knowing my role in the organization was fulfilling the need I was hired to meet, and that I was doing everything we mutually agreed I should do.
