My name is Heather Lytle and I work for a non-profit family organization called F.A.C.T.   F.A.C.T. staff work to support families that include a person with a disability.  We are an organization that hires parents and guardians of people with disabilities who then in turn support other parents and guardians using a peer mentor approach.

The following blog post was shared through the Social Care Network and I wanted to share it here with our readers.  This is a great post written by a social worker who has outlined a strategic 10 point plan for social workers.

In a recent blog, a social worker argued that we, as a profession, need to discuss solutions rather than just gripe about our problems. I’m not sure it’s fair to say we only complain – and our voices are rarely heard in the media or in government anyway. But since you’re asking, here’s my own list of proposed solutions for better social work:

As an administrator or Power User of your FAMCare system, you’ve got entry forms set up, you’ve set your pathways, you have a lot of data in your system that has been entered by your users, and now you need to get it out in a format that is useful and valuable!
