Today, we all work in silos with our heads down and our noses to the grindstone. This self-imposed isolation adds to the burn out rate in social services. This blog hopes to offer you a refreshing break from the intensity of your service – “Think of reading this blog as a refreshing “glance around the room” looking for inspiration and encouragement from your colleagues who, like you, have dedicated their lives to the service of society’s most vulnerable.”

As 2019 is now behind us and we look forward to 2020 - we here at Global Vision Technologies would like to express our thanks to all of the caseworkers, foster care parents, healthcare providers and so many others who have taken responsibility for our country’s most vulnerable resource - children and families.

The Salvation Army’s soldiers ringing their bells in front of stores and on street corners all across America and, indeed, the entire western world, are as much a part of our traditional Christmas tableaux as the Christmas tree, Santa Claus, the front door wreath, and snowy country scenes enlivened with horse drawn sleighs and seasonal music celebrating family love. The Salvation Army has simply always been a part of this Christmas scene. 

The Verde Valley School in Oak Creek, Arizona was founded in 1947 by Hamilton and Barbara Warren after the devastation of the Western European civilization by the horror of World War II. The Harvard educated couple decided it was their mission to bring together students from all over the world to live, work, and study together in a multicultural environment of mutual respect and service to one another and the wider world community. After 72 years, this tiny secondary school continues to foster intercultural understanding and world citizenship, environmental stewardship, the value of physical labor, and service to humanity with a willing spirit.
