Start With the Why!

Having been in technical sales almost my entire 30-year career, I was used to selling to a variety of industries.  Whether it was helping banks make more money using technology or helping the Department of Defense build fighter jets and other weapons equipment, I was always in it for the money and career reputation.

Through a series of life changing events I ended up helping my husband run his software company.  Little did I know when I signed on that I was going to be changed, yet again in a very positive way. You see, our software serves the most vulnerable in our society.  Children, families, the aging, those who need help and therefore need to have safe and secure records kept for their cases.

What I didn’t count on was the impact the stories of the agencies we serve, the selfless individuals that run and work in these agencies and especially the cases that they manage, would have on my life.

For example, Sister Helen runs a residential home for the most fragile children as a result of abuse and neglect.  They take the cases no other agency will take.  It’s incredibly inspiring to consider ourselves a partner with her to help her accomplish heroic feats for the sake of these children.

Another example is Karen, who has devoted her entire career to a California Adoption Agency and is now the Director.  She beams with pride when she explains that their organization places twice as many children in Forever Families than any other agency in the entire state.  We are so proud to be a part of helping them accomplish that result.

When you sit down with a social worker for a meeting and they’ve been up all night removing a child from an abusive home and worked tirelessly to get the children settled without having to separate frightened siblings who have already been through so much, it’s eye opening and awe-inspiring at the same time.

Anything we can do to help make the lives of these heroes easier and the children and families they serve is time very well spent and we are honored to be a part of it.
