Volunteers serve as the lifeblood of an organization. When getting the most out of your resources, it is important to attend to the needs of your human component. Healthcare workers, social workers, and those in non-profit sectors need the assistance of volunteers to attend to all of the details that keeps an organization running smoothly.

The world as we know it has changed and continues to evolve in many ways which are not always positive.  It is sometimes filled with violence and trauma, as evidenced by the recent attacks in Manchester England, but there are things we can do to provide comfort and healing when these events occur.

I am very lucky to work with a man who cares more about others than himself.  Being a social worker sitting with 4 developers on a daily basis presents is challenges.  We think and act differently.  We approach problems differently and use different forms of communication.  But a guy I work with can be deep into his own problems or tasks and see what others need.  

Every single night, New York City accommodates more than 60,000 people in its homeless shelters! 24,000 are of these unfortunate people are children! The number of homeless New Yorkers has been rising at an astonishing rate since 2011, recently cresting at 60,939 men, women, and children. This crisis is about to overwhelm the largest city in the United States. What is going on?
